I received a digital copy of this book via NetGalley, as an opportunity to review.

👑 I adore the surrealness of Watersnakes by Tony Sandoval.

🐙 Mila meets Agnes — whose magical teeth are sentient teenagers… there’s also the talking octopus-king situation… and it somehow gets weirder from there!

👑 The artwork is amazing; I love the page layouts and the panel arrangements.

🐙 The F/F romance, imho, is handled well.

👑 There’s some disturbing horror/monster artwork, and mild body-horror that’ll squick people out.

🐙 There’re graphic depictions of naked teenage girls. NOT in a sexualised way, in an artsy way; but given they’re about 16, it’s uncomfortable.

👑 Watersnakes is a topsy-turvy gothic fever-dream with Sapphic girls.

🐙 If you like gothic weirdness, and can move beyond the uncomfortable nudity, then I highly recommend this book.
