Fair enough!

You can get an exception here (in fact, if the police find you with a pit-bull-type you have to either get an exception or have it put down,) where the vet assesses its temperament and says it's not aggressive, but then you have to get it neutered and have it muzzled in public.

It's not the only banned breed, but it's the one people persist with most often, despite it being banned for decades.

The main reasons people ever had them here was for things like illegal dog fights and bloodsports, as well as criminals using them as weapons, so by saying you shouldn't have the breed to begin with, it seriously cuts down on people claiming fighting dogs are their pets and covering it up that way.
