First off - that painting is wow, totally awesome.

Second - I get it. I had a 'friendship' as a teenager which... makes me wonder why we all put up with it for as long as we did - though we (a group of around 8 or so teen girls, centred around her) did pull away, one by one. We were scared of her - actually scared. And it took me a while to realise that if someone's your friend, you shouldn't be scared of them.

She made me feel like my opinions were always wrong, like I was defective, like I was a bad friend, even when I bent over backwards for her. She could fly off the handle at the most random, insignificant, thing and make you feel every second of her anger and disappointment, and that it was all your fault... but she could also be so sweet and kind and vulnerable. Though that side of her seemed to get buried more and more as time went on.
