I agree, but then I also think that people need to be aware that if you're Jewish, and have had that trope thrown at you, it has the same affect that any other form of bigotry or micro-aggression can have - whether or not the offense was intended. I think if Jamie Foxx had mentioned Judas by name, it would have been clearer, given that Jewish people get called some sort of secret group of 'they' in terms of online conspiracy theories *a lot*. An unfortunate coincidence, and I'm glad he apologised.
Just a note: many light-skinned Jewish people do not consider themselves to be White, though many others do. There are also, of course, many Jewish People of Colour, including Black Jewish people.
