I Don’t Know (Overwhelm)
I don’t know how to fix
yesterday’s tomorrows
the long-gone mistakes
of a past not yet lived
I don’t know how to fix
the way time flows
— both fast and slow,
giddying in its inconsistency.
I don’t know how to be
in a world like this
where everyone else
sees lines, I see wheels
I don’t know how to carry on
ten years or more of misery
I don’t know how to stay strong
( — could I ever be as strong as me?)
I don’t know how to flow
when this current isn’t mine.
You want me to make port
in the wrong place, wrong time.
I don’t know how to fix
yesterday’s tomorrows
the long-gone mistakes
of a past
not yet
lived
