I get where you're coming from, but spreading misinformation that has real-world consequences (i.e. promoting violence against a particular group, telling people downright dangerous sh** about bleach and Covid, etc.) - especially if the account saying this stuff has some authority - is not OK. And while I don't hold the tech companies responsible for it happening in the first place (people be wild,) I do think they have a responsibility to deal with it when it's brought to their attention - even if that just means flagging up more reliable resources you can consider, when you view BS.

And no-one is entirely safe or immune from misinformation - no matter how skeptical or intelligent or mature. To think any different is kind of naive.
