...I'm British, and confused. Why does the bottom half look more like the flag of Argentina?

Also, we're still having trouble here in Wales turning English place-names back to the Welsh (mostly from English people who get freaked out if we point out there's more than one nation in the UK. And also can't pronounce even the simplest of words in Cymraeg, let alone attempt Bannau Brycheiniog - it really freaks 'em out.)

Once something's been English-named, it's like getting chewing-gum off pavement, I swear.
