I'm not criticising your point - it's an interesting piece, but I felt like your 'why' failed to encompass the scope of what public executions were actually like (and the mixed reasons behind people attending.)

The comparison is pretty clear in your piece: 'Don't we however have a present version of this? It even happens on a bigger scale than in the past.'

I know the comparison is more metaphorical, slightly-flippant, and hyperbolic, than literal, but if anything you emphasise the 'thirst for blood' of the modern more than the 'gruesome sight' of the past.

I just feel like the two may have some core origins, but that they're not really comparable. That's all - I'm not trying to argue, I promise, just discuss! :)
