I'm used to Twitter, where bot and spam accounts come and go regularly - I know it's hard, but don't panic. Some people also play the follow-unfollow game, even if you follow them back, to make their follower numbers look better.
(I used to have, on Twitter, a handful of people noticeably unfollowing whenever I posted anything Queer, or a photo or gif with a Black person in it. That died down a lot when I put 'Queer' on my bio, though it still happens from time to time - some people just suck, and as much as it hurts, you've just gotta brush it off.)
