Thoughts on re-reading Volume 2 of The Umbrella Academy — Dallas
Yes we’re back with The Umbrella Academy! This time, volume 2: Dallas.
So, Volume 1: Apocalypse Suite is over and done — which you can see here:
So I re-read Vol 2: Dallas…
where the f**k do I start with Dallas? 😅
This volume is both similar to and entirely different from the Netflix series.
Yes, both. At once.
And that level of paradox and contradiction is right up yours truly’s street! 👍💖
Dallas is…
like the series in terms of characterisation, and quite a few plot elements (Vietnam, Hazel and Cha-Cha, the Commision, etc.)
But when it comes to levels of randomness and total bizarre-ity?
Dallas has been on a lot more caffeine and sugar (and maybe some other substances… but we don’t do that kind of thing here. #ResponsibleAdult)
I mean…
in the first issue/chapter, The Umbrella Academy are fighting The Lincoln Memorial (y’know, big a** stone statue of Abraham Lincoln? That) which has come to life for reasons which I can’t actually remember us finding out about.
…And it just gets more random from there.
Which I love. So much.
It’s like the inside of my head (…you’re all so lucky I edit blogposts before I publish 😅)
And m’boy Klaus rocks in Every. Version.

Again, though, I was surprised at just how disturbing gore is in primary colours 😅
