Medium has the exact same arguments that the blogging community were having when I was a newbie-blogger.

It makes me smile and roll my eyes sometimes.

In internet terms, I am ancient (7+ years of blogging over on Dora Reads.) People were probably having these same arguments and discussions before I stumbled along — there’s nothing new under the sun and all that.

Eternal blogging/Medium questions include but are not limited to:

  • How long should your post be?
  • How much do headlines matter?
  • Are stats important?
  • Followers vs reads?
  • Quality or quantity?
  • Do you need a niche?
  • Aim for long-term success? Or viral content?
  • Should you tailor to the algorithm? How much?
  • How important is social media?
  • Should you reply to comments? Should you leave comments on other people’s posts?
  • To lists or not to lists? (Somehow this is still an argument *face palms* — USE LISTS…
