Not everyone will get it

— your weird, your art, your quirks, your heart.

Not everyone will appreciate the words you put on page or screen, the paint you put on canvas, the notes you play on strings or keys or drums, the way you play a drama role.

And that’s OK.
Because if everyone got it,
then someone would have come up with it before .

Someone would already have done this thing that you’re trying to do.
And now? You get to be completely original, completely new.

Not everyone will get it. But the right people will — maybe not straight away, maybe frustratingly slowly, but they will find your work somehow. And some of them will need this thing you’ve put out into the world.

So.
Keep. Going.

Keep going despite the ones who ‘don’t get it.’ Because they don’t matter to your work.

You’re creating something they can’t even imagine. Keep going.

Author’s Note: Yes, I’m giving myself a pep-talk and posting it on the internet again, what of it? ;)
