I am rubber and you are glue
every compliment bounces
off me
and sticks
to you

Hold it close,
why dontcha?

Maybe
keep it safe
for me
until I can stop
throwing it
away and
hold it
for myself

Prompt from the creative Dr. Casey Lawrence:

  • What is a trait you that you admire in other people, but criticize in yourself?
