Snail’s Pace On A Hot Day
Today’s too hot.
It’s 24C in my living room. I know that for some places in the world, that would be nothing — but I’m Welsh. The UK as a whole isn’t built for these increasingly hot, climate-change-induced, summers, and Wales even less so.
My brain doesn’t work in the heat.
I’m also not a patient person — least of all with myself.
So while it’s physically (not to mention mentally,) impossible to work any faster than a very sickly snail, the pressure that I put on myself to get sh** done isn’t helping.
I’m just going to have to accept that things are going to take just as long as they’re going to take — trying to speed things up while moving through air that feels like hot treacle isn’t going to work.
So, snail’s pace it is. And I’ll have to find a way to be happy with that.
