Sound Without Sound
Tell me tell me tell me… (Poetry.)
Tell me tell me tell me tell me
Can you hear the beat of this tune?
— I’m playing it just for you,
a sequence of notes that only exist
in the echoing space
between neurons
across continents
and digital playgrounds
this tune is just for you
Tell me tell me tell me tell me
Am I doing what I set out to do?
A melody without sound,
a truly psychic
symphony,
blending Beethoven
and YUNGBLUD,
throw in some druids chanting,
the thrum of the bard’s magic
playing and plying
in layers
beneath
the surface;
sinking down to your cortex’s core
Can you hear the way the waves
move
in and out
of your brain?
Sound without sound in the key
of your synaptic instruments.
I’m playing every tune
just for you.
Tell me tell me tell me
is it getting through to you?
Can you feel the beat without the beat
and the melody with no harmony?
Can you feel the thrum of the wild of the world
as I distil it just for you…?
Well,
tell me.
Can you hear my tunes?
Some very kind readers have previously told me that my poetry reads like a song is playing in their heads — hopefully this one does too!
