Strict follow for follow (i.e. will follow anybody for the chance of a follow back, will unfollow those who don't follow back regardless of content, will unfollow some who do follow back in order to inflate followers vs following,) quite frankly seems exhausting. Unless you're using bots, but that seems unethical.

Soft 'n' loose follow for follow (finding people to follow who follow people you follow (...wow that was 'follow' a lot in one sentence,) finding people who write about subjects you write about to follow, hoping for a follow back but not expecting one,) is much more my speed.
