The short answer: it isn't.

The long answer: In scale it's larger than a lot of conflicts, and the ramifications of Putin going off the handle are dire for the whole world. But at it's heart, it is no better or worse than any other conflict.

I would expect us to hear more about it here in Europe - it's literally on our continent, which was nearly made into a nuclear wasteland the other day because Putin's forces don't understand the concept of not firing at a nuclear power station. But in America? It should be on a par with other conflict reporting (with maybe a bit more on the whole nuclear problem.) If it's not, then your press needs to reconsider how it reports.

The racism faced by many Black and Asian people trying to leave Ukraine is unacceptable. But I've also seen suggestions that aid from the US should be denied to Ukraine unless their government (which is a bit busy right now,) deals with the racism. And I can't get behind that - putting conditions on aid getting to innocent people (beyond the distribution etc. of that aid) isn't something I would ever support, and I'm happy to hear that you are willing to keep helping the aid efforts <3
