To The Poets Of The Poems Never Written
Can you feel the echo of the poems never written?
They’re there — calling to you. Some fade, it’s true — lost in memories unknown, and worlds of words collapsed before they could be formed.
But the others — they’re there, no? Waiting for you to dance with them through the nights of yesterday and tomorrow.
Come on — I know you feel it too. Some of you, at least…
The poetry, in motion, at the back of your brain, pushing its way to the forefront. Answer the call.
Keep writing. Keep writing your poetry. Keep writing your reviews and how-to’s and pieces about pieces that didn’t do as well as the other pieces about pieces… Keep writing.
Keep dancing. Keep painting. Keep singing. Keep playing tennis and washing the dishes. Keep making the poetry that isn’t quite poetry.
Keep the poetry moving in your blood, and bring those unwritten words out into the world.
