WHY Do You Always Want To Write Faster?

Do any of you actually enjoy writing?

‘Increase your productivity by x30!’

‘Write more articles FAST!’

‘How I write 1 million articles every day while I sleep!’

Small question: do any of you writers want to, y’know, WRITE?

Because it seems — and this is just an opinion, don’t come for me — like what a lot of you really want is a large pile of finished stories with your pen/name attached.

…And that’s not the same thing.

And no, this isn’t a quality vs quantity conversation — this is more like ‘do you want to be a writer’ vs ‘do you want to have written things already.’

I know, I know — deadlines are a thing, getting sh** finished is a thing. I’m not saying to hang around in your dreamy 19th Century writer’s attic smoking questionable things — you need to get things done.

But… I want the actual act of writing. So… why would I want that to go faster?

Just some stray thoughts! 😅
