I know you don’t mean
to judge
I know your suggestions
come from
a place
of genuine love
and hope
for the future

But this is my life,
and my pain,
and I’ve never fit
those boxes,
so please
don’t make me try
to be the same
as the people that
I’m not

And right now I’m just trying
to put myself back together
yet again
when the whole world has shattered
and broken me down
and the cracks
out-number
the porcelain

Let me find
my own shape
again,
not anyone else’s
