General thoughts on Marvel’s What If..? episode 5 — What If… Zombies?!

BEWARE SPOILERS!!!

Warning: this post discusses pseudo-cannibalism (because zombies) and general violence

10/10 for the episode title.

Tells you everything you need to know, and is much meme, very friendly to Interwebs.

I need this group to be a thing, like, outside of this episode.

I need to see these particular characters together again — they’re amazing.

Especially Kurt (from Ant-Man) and Okoye — I need more of these two together! I think they could honestly have an amazing buddy-cop show together. And I need it.

Bucky’s ‘how the f**k is this my life?’ face persists into the zombie universe.

This is the one constant of the multiverse. I’m convinced of it.

Also, his hair is luscious af here — maybe it’s all the showers (or maybe the animator in charge of his hair really loved their job.)

Speaking of Bucky’s showers, Peter Parker needs to respect Bucky’s boundaries more!

Although, of course, Peter doing Zombieland-style rules and explainers is amazing.

And totally something Peter would do, let’s face it.

Argh, the train fight!

The shield, the train, the blood, the symbolism.

THE END OF THE LINE!!!!!! ANKLIFIGHDRFGJTOTR!!!!!!!!

And Hope carrying them all to safety was surprisingly beautiful.

I say ‘surprisingly’ because it was a giant woman carrying a bunch of people over hordes of zombies, and you don’t expect that to be beautiful. But it somehow was.
